"Villa Panoramica" is located near Brancaleone Marina, a town of enchanting natural beauty, the site of the most important nesting grounds for Caretta Caretta turtles in the Mediterranean and now a sea turtle recovery centre. Not far from the marina, lies old Brancaleone, a beautiful medieval village abandoned in the late 1950s. The village is very special in that so many remains of past populations are embedded in the sandstone rock that protects the entire settlement. 5 km from Brancaleone, it is possible to visit the Villa Romana di Casignana, a Roman villa from the 1st century A.D. whose remains are located in contrada Palazzi in the municipality of Casignana (RC) and is a true archaeological treasure comparable to the 'Villa del Casale' in Piazza Armerina (EN). The villa probably stood on the ancient road connecting Locri Epizefiri and Rhegion (Reggio Calabria). And it is precisely on this historical-archaeological road that it is possible to visit Locri, 30 km from Brancaleone, a very ancient Magna Graecia colony rich in significant archaeological and historical evidence, home to an interesting museum and national archaeological park. Continuing along this ancient itinerary, we reach Reggio Calabria, also an important Magna Greek city with its National Museum.
